The Arrest of a Texarkana Negro Baseball Team occurred on September 2nd 1906. The Dallas Morning News reported:

Texarkana Baseball Players Arrested for Playing on Sunday

Texarkana, Tex., Sep. 3rd - A local colored baseball team was arrested while playing a game on College Hill, Arkansas side, yesterday on a charge of Sabbath breaking. Each was fined $15.40, including costs, in the police court this morning. Two of them paid for their fines, but the other seven, having no money, were put to work on the county roads at $1 per day. The arrests were were made under the state law." (1)
