Saul Davis

Saul Henry Davis Jr., born February 22nd, 1901 in Louisiana,1 was a Negro League baseball player. He lived in Monticello, AR during the 1910s.


Davis was the son of Saul Davis Sr. and Cora Mae Veaslay.2 He was raised at the Monticello Academy school in Monticello, AR.

1. Davis' birthplace is disputable. He himself said he was born in Louisiana in Turkey Stearnes and the Detroit Stars: The Negro Leagues in Detroit, 1919-1933, by Richard Bak . However, some sources indicate that he was born in Monticello, AR. The 1920 U.S. Census gives his birthplace as Arkansas.
