Dave Williams

David Owen Williams, born February 7th, 1881 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, was a professional baseball player from 1900-1903. He played three major league games with Boston in the American League in 1903. He died in Hot Springs, AR.

Biography

Williams joined the military during World War I and contracted pneumonia. He was sent to the Army-navy Hospital at Hot Springs, AR, where he died1 .

"By 1918 he [Williams] had become a captain in the infantry (151st Field Artillery, Battery B), but in April of that year contracted pneumonia at Camp Cody in Deming, New Mexico, and died on April 25 at the Army and Navy hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas. His wife and two sisters were with him when he passed away."2
