Jim Griffith Field

Jim Griffith Field was a baseball park in El Dorado, AR and was the home field of the El Dorado Oilers from 1947-1955.

Jim Griffith Field was located at what used to be the Union County Fairgrounds, bordered by West 5th, Grove and Union streets. The ballpark and fairgrounds are now gone and the Medical Center of South Arkansas stands in its place.

The field was named after El Dorado resident Jim Griffith when it opened in 1947. Griffith was president of the Oilers from 1937-1939 and president of the Cotton States League from 1947-1948.
