Virgil Manson "Red" Day, born September 17th, 1888 in Harmony, Johnson County, Arkansas, was a professional baseball pitcher from 1914-1921.

Virgil was nicknamed "Red" because of his red hair. Besides playing baseball, he also worked as a farmer and a teaching during the off-season. Because of his involvement in education, he was often called "Professor". Day died in March, 1957 in Arkansas and was buried in Bethlehem Cemetery in Hartman, AR.
