"Lowell Britton "Brit" Horton , 93, of Texarkana, Texas, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, in a local hospital. Mr. Horton was born Sept. 13, 1917, in Atkins, Ark. He was retired from Dow Chemical Co., a member of South State Line Methodist Chruch and a World War II Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Noble Lorene Horton of Texarkana; one daughter, Dru-Ann Merriman of Texarkana; one brother, Robert Carroll Horton of Lake Villiage, Ark.;onesister,MargaretGenevive Walters of Angleton, Texas; and a number of other relatives. Cremation arrangements are under direction of East Funeral Home, downtown. Visitation will be 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Literacy Council of Bowie and Miller Counties or a favorite charity."4
