Fred Nunley

Fred Nunley, born January 29th, 1893 in Dardenelle, AR,1 was a Negro baseball player from about 1915-1922.

Biography

Nunley played with the Little Rock 400's in 1915,2 and the Majestic Hotel team in Hot Springs, AR in 1917.3 He may also have played with the Little Rock Quapaws in 19194 and the Little Rock A.B.C.'s in the 1922 Interstate League.5

Nunley was convicted in March, 1920 of manslaughter and sentenced to three years in prison.6 However, he was given a full pardon by Arkansas Governor Charles Brough in May.

Nunley died on January 13th, 1926 in Pulaski County, AR.7
