Roy Buckalew, born June 4th, 1896 in Poplar Bluff, MO,1 was a professional baseball player from 1920-1933. He resided in Little Rock, AR circa 1910-1929.

Buckalew was the son of Robert Buckalew and Susan (nee Martz) Buckalew.2

Buckalew was the son of Robert M. and Susan Buckalew. Buckalew married Frances Soldato on February 7th, 1929 with fellow professional pitcher Jimmy Zinn as best man3

"Roy M. Buckalew, about 68, of Detroit, a retired baseball player and a former resident of Little Rock, died Friday at his home. He lived at Little Rock as a youth and attended Little Rock schools. He later played professional baseball for several teams, ending his career with Montreal in the International League. At his death, he worked for the Fort Motor Company. Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Frances Soldata Buckalew; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Monroe of Levonia, Mich., and two grandchildren. Funeral and burial will be Monday at Detroit."7
