Fred Hawn

Fred Arthur Hawn , born September 29th, 19061 in Huntsville, AR,2 was a professional baseball player from 1929-1945 and a professional baseball manager from 1934-1945, and a professional baseball scout from 1945-1973. He lived most his life in Fayetteville, AR.

Biography

Hawn later became a long-time scout for the St. Louis Cardinals before retiring in 1973.3

Hawn died in Fayetteville, AR on August 23, 1985.4 The remains were cremated and interned in Saint Paul's Episcopal Church Columbarium in Fayetteville.5 6

"Fred A. Hawn, 78, of Fayetteville, a retired baseball scout for the St. Louis Cardinals, died Friday. Hawn managed the Cardinals' farm teams prior to 1946 and was a scout for the St. Louis organization for more than 30 years before retiring in 1973. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, an Episcopalian and is survived by his wife, Maude Gold Hawn."7
