Spring Training in Argenta

Argenta, AR was briefly used for professional baseball Spring Training in 1909 by the St. Paul Saints of the American Association. The team trained at Faucette Park.

History

The Saint Paul Saints started early spring training in Hot Springs, AR before heading to Little Rock in mid March. Early arrivals briefly worked out at West End Park with the Little Rock Travelers before the entire club made camp at Argenta on March 22nd. The Saints stayed at the Hotel Mahoney at Cross and Markham streets in Little Rock and walked across the Iron Mountain railway bridge into Argenta. (1)
