Harper died in Little Rock, AR,2 on July 14th, 1980.3 He was buried in Ebenezer Cemetery in Warren, AR.

"Robert Harper, catcher, 21 years old. Born in Prescott, Ark., he now makes his home in Little Rock. Unmarried. Like Eskew, this is his first experience in organized baseball. Last year, he played with an independent team at Haynesville, La., and prior to that was with amatuer teams in Little Rock and vicinity. He hits and throws right handed. He played in 120 games with Haynesville, with a batting average of .308. No fielding records were kept."4

"Robert M. (Bobby) Harper, a minor league catcher for seven years, died in Little Rock, Ark., recently. He was 77. Harper played at Hagerstown, Evansville, Columbus, Bartlesville, Asheville and Little Rock.."5
