Dewey Aday

Dewey Aday, born August 21st, 1898 in Bear Springs, AR, was a professional baseball player from 1921-1927.

Biography

Despite being a druggist and physician, Aday died of an overdose of procaine hydrochloride on June 9th, 19361 . He may have been self-dosing because of an injured ankle2 . He was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Tonganoxie, KS3

"Bartlesville, Okla., June 3 (AP) -Dr. Dewey Aday, 28, prominent Bartlesville physician died yesterday of complications which followed a badly sprained ankle suffered in a fall from his porch several days ago. Surviving are his widow, and one daughter, and his mother, Mrs. Josie Aday of Marshall, Iowa."4

"Dr. Dewey Aday, Bartlesville, aged 37, died June 9 of an accidental overdose of procaine hydrochloride."5
