"[Marianna] succeeded in signing Floyd Garrison, first baseman for the Hubs in the City League, reputed the best ball player in that organization. Garrison has played in the City League two years. He is a fine fielder and a strong hitter. Although he has been playing first regularly, he is a very good pitcher. He is only 18 years old and is a most promising youngster. Garrison is employed as a pressman on the Arkansas Gazette."2
"Floyd L. Garrison, [illegible] years of age, died yesterday afternoon at [illegible] o'clock at the family residence of[illegible' West Tenth street, after a lingering illness. He is survived by [illegible] and grandmother who live at the same address. The body will be sent to Jacksonville, Ark., tomorrow morning where services will be held and internment made. Mr. Garrison was widely known in Little Rock, having for a number of years taken great interest in local athletic circles. He was a member of the Hub Clothing Baseball team of the City League and was one the hardest hitters in the league. He also played in the Northeast Arkansas League. He left Little Rock about a year ago for Mexico in search of a more healthful climate but returned during the summer."3
