August E. "Gus" Enderline, born July 16th, 19291 in Arkansas,2 was a professional baseball player in 1949.

Biography

Enderlin died on February 22nd, 2006.3 He was buried in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Conway, AR.4

"Conway, Oct 8. - Cpl. August E. ("Gus") Enderline, 23, of Conway was wounded in action in Korea September 27, his parents have been advised. Enderlin was hit by mortar fire. A former professional baseball player in the Evangeline League, he went to Japan in July, 1951, and has been in Korea 10 months."5

"August “Gus” Enderlin, 76, of Conway passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2006. He owned and operated Model Laundry and Dry Cleaners for 40 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, The Catholic Knights of America, a Veteran of the Korean War and a Purple Heart Recipient. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Rose Knittig Enderlin, one son Mark Enderlin and wife Lynn of Little Rock; three daughters Theresa Gerard and husband Tom, Jacqueline Kordsmeier and husband Allen and Marilyn Dail and husband Mark all of Conway; 12 grandchildren; Ashley, Stephen, Elliot, and Clare Enderlin of Little Rock, Susan and Michael Gerard, John, Elaine, and Hanna Kordsmeier, Matthew, Heather and Caroline Dail, and brother Raymond “Dick” Enderlin of Conway. Visitation will be at 7:00 PM, Friday, February 24th followed by the Rosary at 7:30 PM at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway (501.327.7727). Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 25th at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
