Hoyle Cox

John Hoyle Cox, born December 2nd, 19081 in Arkansas,2 was a professional baseball player in 1929.3

Biography

Cox grew up in rural Clark County, AR.4 5 6

Cox was a lefthanded pitcher with Vicksburg and Alexandria in the 1929 Cotton States League. He threw a no-hitter for Alexandria against Monroe on August 1st.7

Cox had a son named Lefty Grove Cox.8

Cox died in a car accident on March 19th, 1948 near Gurdon, AR.9 He was buried in Alpine Cemetery in Alpine, AR.10
