Isom Jones, born November 16th, 1913 in Malvern, AR,1
was a Negro baseball player with the Butte Colored Giants from 1935-1939.
Biography
Jones was the son of Alf Jones and Belle (nee Oakley) Jones.2 He grew up in rural Hot Spring County, AR, near Malvern, AR.
Jones, a pitcher, was one of many black Arkansans to play with the Butte Colored Giants during the 1930s. He reportedly went 6-6 with a 3.19 ERA in 19 games in the 1935 Montana State League.3
Jones died on June 6th, 1944 in Hot Spring County, AR.4
