Jimmy Zinn Jr.

James Edward Zinn Jr., born August 31st, 1924 in Kansas City, MO, was a professional baseball player from 1946-1953. He was the son of Jimmy Zinn. He lived much of his live in North Little Rock, AR.

Biography

Zinn was the son of James Edward Zinn Sr. and Grace (nee Brown) Zinn. He was born in Kansas City where his father was pitching for the Kansas City Blues at the time.

Zinn died on September 3rd, 2006 in Memphis, TN.1 He was buried in Memorial Park South Woods Cemetery in Memphis, TN.2

"JAMES EDWARD ZINN , JR., 82, of Memphis, retired claims adjustor with Allstate Insurance and former minor league professional baseball player, died September 3, 2006 at his home. A memorial service will be Saturday, September 9, at 2 p.m. at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores Zinn ; two daughters, Jayne Zinn of Memphis and Carolyn Sackstein of Port Jefferson, N.Y.; and a granddaughter, Jamie Sackstein. The family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association"3
