Biography
Barnett was the son of Samuel L. Barnett and Callie (nee Garner) Barnett.4
Barnett, a utility player, signed with Monroe in 1929, but did not make the team.5 He briefly played with El Dorado in 1933, then joined the semi-pro Southern Kraftsmen of Camden, AR for several seasons. From 1936-1938, he played in the East Texas League with Longview, Marshall, Kilgore, Jacksonville and Tyler.6 7 Late in the 1938 season, he joined Hot Springs and was briefly made manager.8
Barnett died on July 14th, 1980 in Bowie County, TX.9 He was buried in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Wake Village, TX.10
