"Joseph Charles "JC" Roe, 85 of Judsonia, Ark., passed away Thursday Feb. 16, 2017. He was born Aug. 7, 1931, in Viola to Cecil E. Roe and Lottie Weaver Roe. He was a teacher and engineer by profession. He graduated Harding College, then began teaching high school. He got his master's from Washington University St. Louis and worked as an engineer for Pet Milk Co. in Greenville, Ill., returned to teaching for four years in Lonoke, then worked until his retirement as engineer for Johnson and Johnson's Ethicon Factory in San Angelo, Texas. After retiring to Judsonia, he still taught part time Statistics Class at ASU-Beebe for 10 years. He was a member and Deacon at the Judsonia Church of Christ. He loved baseball , played for the Dodgers AA minors and was especially proud of his "Uncle Preacher" who played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. And he loved the Razorbacks. Most of all he loved and is survived by his best friend and wife of 65 years Mary Ann (Childers) Roe; children, Steve (Debbie) of Sand Springs, Okla., Kate Vaughan (Bill) of Dickinson, Texas, Joe (Debbie) of Mountain View, Charles (Barbara) of San Angelo, Texas, Rebecca Trevino (Johnny) of San Antonio, Texas, James (Sandy) of Searcy; 10 beloved grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy (Judy) of Kansas City, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lee Edward. Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb 20, 2017, at Powell Funeral Home, 1272 Arkansas Highway 367 North, Bald Knob, Ark. Private graveside service will follow with family members placing his ashes in the cemetery in Viola, Ark. Arrangements entrusted to Powell Funeral Home Bald Knob-Judsonia."5
