According to The Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues by James A. Riley, John Berry played for the Kansas City Monarchs from 1935-1936 and the St. Louis Stars in 1937. However, this is mostly likely a misattribution. John Berry was most likely confused with Cannonball Berry, a pitcher for Kansas City and St. Louis during those years.
