"ALEXANDER - Lloyd W. Heitman, 88, of Alexander, born September 29, 1918, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 24, 2007. Lloyd attended Henderson United Methodist Church. He was a Little Rock High School Athletic star who went on to play Pro Baseball with the Pensacola Flyers and later became a Pro Baseball Scout for the Atlanta Braves. In 1948, Lloyd joined his father and formed what was one of Little Rock's first landscape nurseries, H.H. Heitman & Son Nursery. His landscaping heritage continues on today, four generations later through his daughter and his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Belle Lewis Heitman; one daughter, Marietta Heitman Knight of Alexander; three grandchildren, Blake Knight, Tony Knight and Mary Kathryn Weindorf; and six great grandchildren (soon to be seven). Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander (501-455-1067). Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007, with Reverend Kevin Lyon officiating, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Rick Korte, Buddy Whiting, Mac Clem, Ron Hagar, Blake Knight and Blake Weindorf."3
