"Martin Joseph (Mr. Fil) Filogamo, 90, of Texarkana, AR, died Thursday, February 22, 2018, at his home. He was born April 18, 1927, in Belmont, MA. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army Air Corps; retired teacher and principal for T.A.S.D.; former headmaster of St. James Day School; heavily involved in the Texarkana Area Baseball Association (T.A.B.A.); Deputy Commissioner for Dixie Youth Baseball for 28 years; and was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Andy Filogamo. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Filogamo; one son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Kathy Filogamo; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Kevin Jones; two brothers, Peter Filocamo and his wife, Pat, and Johnny Filocamo; 6 grandchildren, Lauren Shelley and husband, Brendan, Joseph Utecht and wife, Sonya, Marty Filogamo, Anthony Filogamo, Tristan Jones, and Wilson Jones. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Monday, February 26, 2018, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas Blvd., with visitation immediately following until 8:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at St. Edwards Catholic Church, with the Rev. James West officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to K.I.D.S. Diabetic Day Camp, 109 Meadows Rd., Texarkana, AR 71854; St. Edwards Catholic Church, 407 Beech St., Texarkana, AR 71854; St. James Day School, 5501 N.
