Excerpts

"Paul Nichols, after a record of no games lost for us last summer is back with us again and all the Augusta fans ask of him is that he will do a little better than that for us this year. The big southpaw hurler hails from Boonesville, Ark., and played independent ball until he joined the Augusta Tygers last season. He has a mean fast ball and a curve ball that is mighty hard to hits., And he should have no trouble fathering a long string of victories for the Augusta club in the months of the season that lie ahead. He will hardly cram any joy into the lives of the batting orders of Charlotte, Columbia, Startenburg, Charleston or Greenville teams."4
