Sug Wilson

Clyde "Sug" Wilson, born in February 1929 in Hot Springs, AR1 was a professional baseball player from 1947-1948.

Biography

Wilson was inducted into the Arkansas Golf Hall of Fame in 2003

"I played basketball for the university in 1946, then played professional baseball in the Chicago White Sox organization in '47 and '48," Wilson said."2

"Wilson had been a good high-school athlete and felt he could get the hang of the game if he worked at it. He'd played basketball for a year at the University of Arkansas and spent two seasons in the minor leagues playing baseball in the Chicago White Sox farm system."3

"Sug Wilson was born in Hot Springs, Ark. in February 1929. He attended Fountain Lake High School and University of Arkansas where he played basketball for the Razorbacks. He played minor league baseball for the White Sox farm team. Wilson played amateur golf for 50 years and won eight state championships, inducted into the Arkansas Golf Hall of Fame in 2003."4
