Walter Lee "Bud" Lutes, born June 16th, 1913 in Lutesville, MO, was a professional baseball player in 1936. Lutes resided in Blytheville, AR, most of his life.

"Walter (Bud) Lutes, 57, a farmer and trucker of the New Liberty Community,, died Thursday at Memphis Methodist Hospital. Born at Lutesville, Mo., he had moved in 1918. He was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruby Wright Lutes of Blytheville; One son, Morris Wilson Lutes of Coral Gables, Fla.; Two daughters, Mrs. Haskin Mitchell and Mrs. Wesley Crawford, both of Blytheville; Three brothers, Burrett Lutes of Troy, Mich., Clyde Lutes of Parma, Mo., and Harry Lutes of Blytheville; Three sisters, Mrs. Floss Bondurant and Mrs. Phillips Applebaum, both of Blytheville, and Mrs. Eddie Zimmerman of West Memphis; And seven grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Ray Tweed and Rev. J. C. Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Murray McHaffey, Calvin Barnett, Clexton Eubanks, Billy Wayne Duncan, Ed Bunch and Henry Mahan."5
